In 2019 F1 raced at Hockenheim for the German Grand Prix. In 2020 that race will no longer be on the calendar, but the F1 paddock will still go to Germany for a Grand Prix. At the Nürburgring they will drive the Eifel Grand Prix next weekend. For Andreas Seidl it is a relief that there is a Grand Prix in Germany.
The German explains that it is important to have a Grand Prix in the country. "Not only from a personal point of view, but also from an F1 perspective, it is important that we have a race in Germany. There is a lot of motorsport history in this country," said Seidl to Motorsport-Total.com.
Snow on the way?
It is not only important for Seidl, but it is also important for Sebastian Vettel to have a race on the calendar for Germany. "I think it is also important for him and also for Formula 1, if I am honest, to drive for Sebastian's home crowd."
"I have had a lot of positive experiences with various projects at the Nürburgring and the Nordschleife. It will be interesting what the weather will do. I have heard that snow is already falling in some parts of Germany. So I am really looking forward to it. What's more, with McLaren we are also bringing upgrades to stay in the fight for P3," Seidl concluded.
