After the F1 race at the Sochi Autodrom in Russia, Mika Salo received a lot of criticism. Not only was he involved in the decision to give Hamilton a double-time penalty, but he is said to have leaked this information prematurely to the Finnish media. A day later, he has defended himself fiercely.

"Full of Shit," was the first reaction from Salo to Ilta Sanomat "Everyone has to comply with the same rules and they are quite clear."

Salo is not the leak

Motorsport-Total.com claimed that he leaked the news to the Finnish reporter Niki Juusela but Salo stood firm in his view. "It doesn't make any sense. Call Niki and ask him. I heard yesterday that someone made this up, so it is worth checking the facts. You can write all kinds of things on the Internet."

"As soon as people don't like a decision, there's always shit. When we took Max Verstappen off the podium, I received death threats for a year. That's how much people believe in those online writings."
