Will Kubica get another chance in Formula 1? "You should never rule it out"

Robert Kubica's comeback to F1 was certainly not what he wanted it to be. In 2019 Robert Kubica returned to Formula 1, eight years after the rally accident in which he almost lost his arm, but there was little honour to be gained with the Williams. Moreover, he was outperformed by the young talent George Russell. Nevertheless, the current test driver of Alfa Romeo has not yet put racing in Formula 1 out of his mind.
Kubica already driven a number of free practice sessions in the Alfa Romeo this season and he informs Motorsport.com that a return to the grid is not a closed door for him. "My history and my situation of the past years have shown that you can never say never. You should never exclude it." At the same time, he is also realistic about his chances. "Of course the opportunities are limited and if an opportunity arises I have to assess the situation first. I certainly don't want to come back and be the last one all the time. That makes no sense to me."
Despite the fact that 2019 was a difficult season for the Polish driver, he looks back on it with a good feeling. "I managed to get back into Formula 1 and that chance in 2019 was something special for me. Of course it was less visible because of the difficult situation at Williams and the lack of results, but it is still something very special to have been in Formula 1 twice."
