The Formula 1 drivers and teams have had a week off, but now it is time for the Russian Grand Prix next weekend. Lots of sun, but there is also a small chance of rain.

The Triple Header with Spa-Francorchamps, Monza and Mugello provided a lot of excitement and sensation and after a week off, F1 fans are of course hoping for a similar race in Sochi. However, this has not been the case in recent years in Russia, as the race was usually in a parade and so far was won every time by Mercedes.

Will rain cause chaos in Russia?

That, of course, is also the expectation for next weekend. Mercedes will once again be the dominant team in 2020 and only Red Bull Racing manages to stay close at times. Max Verstappen already won one race, when the tyre wear at Silverstone became a little too much for the drivers of the German team.

However, tyre wear doesn't normally play a major role in Russia and the temperature doesn't have to be a factor either, as can be seen on Weather.com. The temperature is expected to be 27 degrees on Friday and 26 degrees on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday and Sunday there is a 20% chance of rain, so who knows that the rain can still cause a sensation?
