Kevin Magnussen scored the only World Championship point for Haas F1 this year at the Hungarian Grand Prix. It puts the American race team in ninth place in the constructors' championship. Guenther Steiner expects that this will be the case for the rest of 2020.

"We're losing time in traffic and wind," says the team boss in an interview with Auto, Motor und Sport. On the Friday of the Grand Prix weekend in Spain, Romain Grosjean was in the top six twice. "In Barcelona the wind came from the front first. That was good. Then the wind tilted 180 degrees, which didn't work out well for us. Our car doesn't even like side winds."

Haas F1 competes with Ferrari

Ferrari has been on the podium with Charles Leclerc on two occasions with its own factory team, but in recent weeks Haas F1 has not been inferior to its engine supplier in terms of speed. Especially on Sunday the two teams do not avoid each other much.

"It goes up and down. Usually Ferrari is in the front. I'm not really interested in the challenge," Steiner refers to the fact that it's always waiting to see which of the Ferrari-powered cars turn out to be the fastest. "We fight to beat each other. What's the point of beating Ferrari if we are all in the back. Under normal circumstances we won't score this year," he concluded.
