Enough choice for Alfa Romeo: ''I'm not going to find anyone with more experience'

With Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg on the market, Frederic Vasseur has the drivers to choose for 2021. However, according to Alfa Romeo's team boss, the ball is with Kimi Raikkonen. If he wants to stay, that is allowed.
When it became known that Raikkonen would be driving for Alfa Romeo in 2019, everyone was a bit surprised. Does Raikkonen now suddenly want to drive in the rearguard after years of Ferrari? However, the Finn seems to be having a good time and Raikkonen is getting more and more out of his car in recent races. Vasseur lets Raikkonen decide for himself whether he wants to continue or not.
Enough choice for Alfa Romeo
''If we both have the intention to continue working together, it would be very good to continue with each other," says Vasseur according to Motorsport.com. The team boss has a choice of drivers, with drivers such as Mick Schumacher, Callum Ilott and Robert Shwartzman who, as Ferrari-juniors, are also hoping for a chance at Alfa.
''I won't find anyone with more experience than Kimi in any case,'' laughs Vasseur. ''We first need to know what Kimi is going to do and what we want to do with him. Then we will look further. I think Checo (Sergio Perez) is interested in all available seats, but we will first have talks with our current drivers in September and then we will make a joint decision for the future," says Alfa Romeo's team boss.
