Hamilton responds via Instagram: "I want you to know that I won't stop".

Lewis Hamilton stood out on Sunday because of two events. He won the Grand Prix of Tuscany and during the podium ceremony he drew attention to the death of Breonna Taylor by wearing a T-shirt. It brought both praise and criticism to the world champion.

Hamilton wore a shirt during the ceremony with the text: 'Arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor'. The American woman was killed at the hands of police officers. According to Hamilton, this has to do with racism in the police, a debate that has been going on a lot lately.

Hamilton reacts

The statement was not in everyone's good nature. Some were of the opinion that such a (political) statement does not belong at a sports competition while others thought it was the right place. A few days later, the Mercedes driver responded to the incident via Instagram.

Hamilton says among other things: "I want you to know that I will not stop, I won't let up, I won't give up using this platform to shed light on what i believe is right"

He continues: "But this is a journey for all of us to come together and challenge the world on every level of injustice, not only racial" concludes the world champion,
