Albon doesn't read the news anymore: "Rather spend that time on Netflix"

With his best qualifying so far in Formula 1, Alexander Albon has got some breathing room after much criticism this season. However, according to the driver himself, he knows he has the support of the team and ignores the media as much as possible.
With his strong qualifying result for the Tuscan Grand Prix, Alexander Albon has received support and compliments from Christian Horner in the press.
"Honestly, I don’t look at the media. I know there is talk, there is always going to be talk about it. It’s a hot topic for the media. So you kinda just move on from it. My trust and my confidence comes from speaking to Christian or Dr. Marko personally and I feel a lot of support from them and from the team as well. So I am relaxed in where I am, but I want to improve and I’m keen and motivated to do that," Albon said in a video interview organised by Red Bull Racing.
Dodging the news
According to the British Thai, it is often the media that provides wild stories and he says he doesn't watch the news anymore. "I have never been a fan of the media", the driver says with a smile. "No, I’m joking. It’s just one of those things. What’s the point of looking at your phone if it’s negative. There is not really any point. I rather use that time on Netflix or something like that. It’s obviously nice to get good comments, but you just have to realise it’s the name of the game. There’s always going to be talk, there’s always going to be comments."
"You can say that this year there is more going on, but at the end of the day, I know what matters is my performance. That’s what I’m focussed on and not the other stuff", concludes the Red Bull driver.
