This week it was announced that Sebastian Vettel will make the switch to Aston Martin next year. After six years, he says goodbye to Ferrari. He has spent most of his time in red alongside Kimi Raikkonen. During the last two years, Charles Leclerc took over that role and this didn't always go well. At least it seemed like that to the outside world.

Leclerc says in a conversation with Speedweek.com that the outside world doesn't fully understand his relationship with the German. “I think people misjudge how we interact with each other. Of course, we fight each other on the track, but there is a lot of respect between us. I am very, very happy for Seb," is Leclerc's response to the news that Vettel will remain in Formula 1.

Can Ferrari stay ahead of Aston Martin?

“There is no doubt that as a driver he deserves to continue his career. I assume that he will be lightning-fast, but hopefully a bit slower than us," the Monegasque is looking ahead to 2021.

Ferrari will have to make some steps forward. Especially on the circuits of Spa-Francorchamps and Monza, the Scuderia had a very difficult time and is slowly losing sight of third place in the current championship. That fight now seems to be mainly between McLaren and Racing Point.
