Max Verstappen also joined the press conference this afternoon where he looked back on his bad weekend at Monza. Max dropped out pretty soon after the restart of the race and went home with zero points. Albon wasn't really able turn the tie either, so it can be said that the Formula 1 weekend in the temple of speed was worthless for Red Bull Racing.

Accumulation of incidents

"What didn't go wrong?", asks Verstappen immediately when asked what went wrong. "I knew qualifying would be difficult, so I was happy with the fifth spot on the grid. But the start was difficult as we had a problem with overheating. Then we ended up in a DRS train", quotes Formule1.nl.

"Then came the safety car, then the red flag which allowed everyone to change tires, but everything went wrong. After the restart, my engine overheated and I had to give up." It couldn't be worse than a failure and with optimism the Dutchman is now looking forward to next Sunday's Grand Prix.

"Things can only get better here. I think we will be just behind Mercedes again and I am confident we will have a positive weekend." That optimism is undoubtedly fuelled by some experience, given that Verstappen has been in Mugello recently, he says. "It gives you a small advantage, I could drive here all day."
