The F1 circus will travel to Mugello this weekend for the final race of the triple header.  The teams and drivers will stay in Italy, but will enter new territory. At least, for many drivers Mugello is a new circuit. Also for Max Verstappen who has driven there, but hasn't really raced yet. The Netherlands is looking ahead.

First race at Mugello for Verstappen

Not too long ago Verstappen took place to drive on the Mugello circuit, but never before did the Dutchman race on the circuit. It promises to be quite a challenge. In a Red Bull press release Verstappen looks ahead:

"It is a rather unique circuit and cannot be compared to other circuits on the calendar. In an F1 car it will be very fast and that is the most important point to take into account. Overtaking will not be easy, but it will certainly be fun to experience this new track".

Mugello is heavy on Pirelli rubber

As long as Mercedes is still so strong, Verstappen can actually only make things difficult for the Germans in the event of tyre problems or temperature problems. They seem to be on their way to Mugello: "The track will be tough for the tyres, mainly because of the high speed curves and the high temperature of the track".

"It's also going to be interesting to see how you do it in on a track that you don't have any preparation for or knowledge of in an F1 car. This is a good test for both teams and drivers".

According to the Limburger, Friday is therefore a more important day than usual. The team is as well prepared as possible, but there is still a lot of work to be done on the set-up.
