Helmut Marko explained why Alexander Albon did not make it past fifteenth place in the Italian Grand Prix. Furthermore, the advisor of Red Bull Racing discusses the missed opportunity for Max Verstappen to make up for World Championship points compared to Lewis Hamilton.

"He had a damaged floor. According to our technicians, it costs one second per lap," Marko speaks the same words as team boss Christian Horner. In the end the British Thai only managed to keep Alfa Romeo Racing driver Antonio Giovinazzi behind him.

Marko doesn't see Red Bull seize the opportunity

Due to engine problems, Verstappen was unable to take advantage of Hamilton's ten-second stop-and-go penalty. Marko regrets this, because it was an excellent opportunity for the 22-year old Dutchman to reduce the difference in the World Championship. "A huge chance has been missed. That can happen," said the man from Graz at Sky Deutschland.

Due to his DNF, Verstappen dropped from second to third place in the world championship. Valtteri Bottas passed Verstappen. Lewis Hamilton increased his lead to 54 points. The Dutchman still has nine Grands Prix to catch up.
