Alexander Albon is under pressure at Red Bull Racing, but for the time being he is holding his hand over his head. It's a bit unusual, since Pierre Gasly was expelled immediately. Ralf Schumacher does have an idea why.

In mid-2019 Gasly was removed from the Red Bull Racing team and relegated to AlphaTauri. Albon had to take his place, but didn't really do much better. The Thai also had to leave a huge gap on teammate Max Verstappen and was, like Gasly, put on a lap by the Dutchman.

Albon extra credit due to nationality?

''We shouldn't forget what the Red Bull organisation as a whole looks like. For the energy brand it's only good that someone with Thai nationality can take a seat in the Red Bull car'', says Ralf Schumacher at Sky Germany.

It's not a crazy idea, because originally the Red Bull brand is also of Thai nationality. As a Formula 1 team it operates under the Austrian flag, but that is not the nationality of the well-known energy drink. Whether this will actually play a role in the choice of driver, is doubtful with a top team?
