The 2020 edition of the Belgian Grand Prix is not one that Max Verstappen will stay with for a long time. The Red Bull Racing driver was in no-man's land for mosy of the race, so it wasn't such an exciting race for the nine-time Grand Prix winner.

"I knew we would be too slow for Mercedes. The tyres were going fast and I couldn't really accelerate. That's not very nice to be honest with", says Verstappen to Jack Plooij at Ziggo Sport. "It wasn't much fun.

So Red Bull is on a 'power circuit' on the podium, but according to the Dutchman that is not so special. "Two years ago we were also on the podium and last year we had a reasonable speed. I don't think we suddenly performed very special," said the 22 year old driver.

An extra pit stop would have been possible, but in the end Verstappen himself decided to stay out. "They asked if I wanted to go in, but then I would be about two seconds behind Daniel Ricciardo. I didn't want that. I took it very easy the last few laps, I only had something to lose. I didn't want to have a flat tyre."
