During qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton showed why they are seen as the best drivers in the field. According to Peter Windsor it could also be an interesting battle between the two drivers in the race.

Verstappen was a fraction of a second away from the P2 on the grid. According to the Dutchman, he had no energy left in his battery just before the finish, but could not have driven the lap faster with a different strategy.

Peter Windsor undoubtedly agrees with the Dutchman's statement. "I think Max dragged everything out of that Red Bull, that was the maximum lap time the car could drive and that was the time he drove. He is about half a second away from Lewis Hamilton, where he has been all year. They're both just driving very strong laps," says the journalist on his YouTube channel.

All tyres good at Spa

Although Mercedes still has the advantage in qualifying, things may be different in the race, according to Windsor. "They could be a bit closer together in the race, as all of Pirelli's tyres this weekend are pretty good. This will allow the teams to use interesting strategies".

"Max may be able to get a little more out of his tyres because his car has a little less power available. Think of Silverstone, for example. On the other hand, Lewis starts at the front and from that position he can look better on his tyres, because he is not behind another car", the experienced journalist continues. So it could be an interesting race this afternoon.
