Lewis Hamilton topped the timesheet in FP3 at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit with a 1.43.255 and will be feeling confident heading into qualifying later on today. Esteban Ocon came in P2 with Lando Norris P3 but attention is drawn to the bottom of the standings where in P20 is Sebastian Vettel's name.

Slow start

It was a slow start to FP3 with only a handful of cars actually heading out onto the track. Both Haas, Alpha Tauri’s and Lando NorrisMcLaren went out but everyone else stayed in the garage.

With just over five minutes left in the session, the whole grid decided to head out for a late charge on soft tyres. This made what was a fairly uneventful session quite exciting right up to the chequered flag.

Haas set some laps

After a dismal performance on Friday, where both drivers only managed 12 laps throughout the whole day due to engine issues, the American team made the most of FP3. Both drivers set some good times to try and make up for their lack of running and will hope to have built their confidence ahead of qualifying later on today.

Rain?

There were a few drops of rain but that didn’t put the drivers off. With just over 30 minutes left of the session, most of the grid took to the track to set the times. Max Verstappen went out with a set of soft tyres but it was Mercedes who were on top of the timesheet with Bottas setting a 1.43.813.

The rain continued to threaten with Sergio Perez reporting drops of rain. There is a 40-50% chance of rain for qualifying which should make things interesting!

Ferrari still down the pecking order

Both Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel struggled once again in their Ferrari’s. Leclerc finished down in 17th with Vettel coming in P20. They will hope to be able to speed up for qualifying but it looks like it’s going to be another poor result this weekend for the prancing horses.
