Van der Garde doubts problems Ferrari engines: "Must be something more behind it"

The race weekend didn't just start badly for the Ferrari team, their customer teams also had their problems. Both Haas cars had engine problems throughout the first free practice session. At least, that's the official explanation, but Giedo van der Garde doesn't believe much of that.
"It's weird that both Haas cars don't drive in the first free practice," he said on Formula 1 Café at Ziggo Sport. "That can't just be broken. On Thursday those mechanics will start the engines and check if everything works. And then you go into the free practice normally and now they're staying in the box."
"On Thursday they'll check everything and then it's ready for Friday. So why don't they both drive? That must have something to do with the fact that they didn't pay the bill."
His colleagues have some doubts about this theory, but the former F1 driver is convinced. "Surely they have something to show them why they don't drive? There has to be something behind it," Van der Garde concluded
