Max Verstappen finished the free practice session fastest on the Friday prior to the Belgian Grand Prix. A positive start to the weekend, according to Verstappen himself.

Verstappen claims to have suffered from balance problems. This occurred particularly on the soft tire, which prevented him from getting the maximum out of it during his fastest lap. Despite this, the Red Bull Racing driver has little to complain about this weekend.

Verstappen has a very good feeling about it

"Actually, it went reasonably well from round one. The balance could always be improved, but in general I was quite satisfied, except for my fastest lap. The second practice session I didn't really have a top balance, but you're still there, so that does mean the car is going reasonably well," the Dutchman told Ziggo Sport.

Verstappen has a bit of a love-hate relationship with Spa-Francorchamps. Even with Circuit Zandvoort on the calender, Spa is without a doubt his home circuit and the Dutch fans have adopted it as their own.
