Valtteri Bottas is looking for his first world title in Formula 1, but he is already well behind. However, the Mercedes driver remains confident in a championship, but knows that he will have to deal with Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing. His expectation is that it will not be a runaway race at Spa-Francorchamps.

"Temperatures look pretty cool, which may be be good for us", Bottas explains to Autosport.com during the press conference leading up to the Belgian Grand Prix. The Finn will also be taking Verstappen into account this weekend. "I have no doubt that Red Bull will be there in terms of speed in the race. They are pretty good with the tyres, no matter what temperature. I am sure they are going to be a threat".

In the battle for the World Championship Bottas finds himself in third place. The gap to number two Verstappen is six points. The gap to leader and teammate Lewis Hamilton is even 43 points. "If I want to fight for the championship, it means I need to gain points against Lewis, and even Max [Verstappen] is ahead of me in the championshp, so I need to beat him."

In Spain, Bottas complained about the black race overalls. They were supposed to absorb the heat, making it quite hot in the cockpit. "I don't know if it has to do with the new material or with the colour, but it was pretty hot," said the 30-year-old driver, who believes his team has made no changes in this respect. "I believe the overalls are the same and I believe that was maybe the hottest race we've had this year are going to have this year."
