Today, the latest additions to the 2020 calendar have been presented. Turkey returns to the calendar for the first time since 2011 and Formula 1 will finish with two races in Bahrain and the final will be held in Abu Dhabi. CEO of F1 Chase Carey is proud of everyone who has contributed to the calendar with 17 races on it.

New additions

"We are proud to announce that Turkey, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi will be part of our 2020 season", Carey announced on the official Formula 1 website. Bahrain is a double-header like we've seen in Austria and Great Britain. It is not yet known if the second race will be held on the shortened track, as is widely speculated.

"This year has presented Formula 1 and the world with an unprecedented challenge and we want to pay tribute to everyone across Formula 1, the FIA, the teams, and our partners who have made this possible", Carey continues.

Scheduled races in 2020

Carey admits that he finds it a disappointment that not all the planned races of 2020 could go ahead, but says he is convinced that the season has started well and that the tension will continue.
