Max Verstappen is currently following Lewis Hamilton in the championship. The gap is big, but anything can happen. Sergio Perez was previously diagnosed with the coronavirus, causing him to miss two races; a potential 52 points. Helmut Marko is not reassured but is not taking any extra measures for the number two in the championship.

Corona can determine championship

It is very important for every driver not to catch the virus after Sergio Perez from Racing Point tested positive for the corona virus. If you miss two races, you can forget about the world title. At Red Bull Racing they start to worry.

Verstappen who is still fighting a very difficult battle for the world title can't miss a race. The same goes for Lewis Hamilton. A gap of 37 points has been closed by Verstappen in two races. However, the question is whether you want to win a world title this way. For the time being, only reserve drivers seem to be able to really benefit from a possible contamination.

Red Bull not take any extra measures for Verstappen

Motorsport-Total.com quotes Red Bull Racing advisor Helmut Marko: "Corona can destroy an entire championship. Perez had nothing. If Verstappen catches the virus his championship will be over".

"We are counting on his [Verstappen, ed.] own responsibility. He is aware of the situation. Several infections have already been detected in his environment. He has seen for himself how easy it is to get infected."
