Carlos Sainz will join Ferrari next season where he will replace Sebastian Vettel. According to Ferrari President John Elkann, victories are not yet certain for the next two seasons, but that doesn't mean that Sainz will not put pressure on their shoulders.

Press to change the title

Sainz, in conversation with motorsport-total.com, said that he had accepted the extra pressure of a championship fight: "I would accept the pressure." Yet the Spaniard remains realistic and knows that a championship in 2021 will not be there.

Dominance of Mercedes

"You don't have to be a genius to know that Formula 1 is currently dominated by Mercedes. And that makes it very difficult for us and the other teams to fight with the dominance of Mercedes for the World Championship", says the McLaren driver.

"And since the rules for 2021 are practically unchanged, it is just logical that you know that any title by 2022 will be difficult to achieve", ends Sainz.
