Helmut Marko and Daniel Ricciardo made a bet with each other in 2018. The current Renault driver thought Valtteri Bottas would leave for Mercedes for the 2019 season, while Marko didn't see that happen. Red Bull Racing's advisor won that bet, but Ricciardo is looking for revenge.

Marko states at Motorsport-Total.com that there is not yet a new bet for 2020 on the table. Ricciardo has already made a proposal, but the 77-year-old Austrian says he has not agreed. "He came up with a tattoo. So I said, 'I'm never gonna get a tattoo in my life'."

Abiteboul the new victim

Ricciardo did manage to persuade his Renault team boss to participate in the tattoo competition. Cyril Abiteboul will have to get a tattoo the moment the driver from Perth manages to take the podium this season.

The relationship between Marko and Ricciardo is still good, even though the Australian suddenly decided to close the door on Red Bull in the summer of 2018. Marko has some nice words left for his former pupil. "Ricciardo is one of the top drivers."
