Toto Wolff still doesn't know what his future looks like. As long as that's not clear, rumours will spread, such as a possible move to Aston Martin or perhaps an important function within Formula 1. Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton give their team boss the best and don't see him as indispensable.

Bottas and Wolff

Bottas has a special history with his team boss. Since 2008 the Finn is taken under his care by Wolff. The team boss is for him an advisor and manager. The racing driver would therefore be sorry if Wolff chooses to leave the successful ship but can understand: "I think Toto has been very important to the team and he has a lot of influence on our successes, but I think within a team it is never about one person".

Hamilton also spoke in similar terms before. Moreover, the Englishman let it be known that a possible departure of Wolff has no influence on his own future with the German team. The six-time world champion now adds the following to that to Fomula1.com: "We have done so much together in this period. I hope he stays, because it's nice to work with him, and it's nice to negotiate with him and have the ups and downs. So I'm really thankful to Toto and I'll fully support him in whatever he decides to do".

Wolff himself said that he's not out yet and needs a moment of reflection before he makes a decision. When that's going to happen is obviously not yet clear.
