It was expected that the warm temperatures in Spain would be to the advantage of the Red Bull Racing team, but it was Mercedes that seemed to deal best with the conditions this weekend. Toto Wolff joked to Christian Horner afterwards that it can be so hot during Grands Prix.

"I said to Christian, come on with the heat. If you achieve such a great victory, I can rub it in," laughs Wolff in front of Sky Sports' camera. But there's no bad blood at all. The team boss of Meredes is just praising his colleague. "Of course they're still a rival, but I respect him. In the past fifteen years that he has been involved in the sport he has done a good job."

Wolff and Mercedes take revenge

Wolff is very relieved that Mercedes responded well to last week's disappointing weekend at Silverstone. "I think the most happy thing is that we have shown here that we have drawn the right conclusions and have been able to win. And that under the same circumstances," he says.

For that the Austrian top man also compliments everyone who contributed to the success of this Sunday. "It has everything to do with our great team and the work they have done. It shows the strength of the team," concludes Wolff.
