Red Bull about new updates: "There's more to come from us"
- GPblog.com
The Red Bull Racing team is not yet satisfied after the first victory of the season in the second British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The Austrian racing team is looking for more and Helmut Marko doesn't even rule out a world title yet. Mercedes still has the dominant car, but Red Bull is busy narrowing the gap.
Over the past few weeks, the Milton Keynes-based formation has been taking some minor upgrades with it. Last weekend, for example, a new rear wing was introduced and improvements were made to the cooling of the Honda engine. But that's not all.
In conversation with Auto, Motor und Sport, Marko announces that more upgrades are expected in 2020: "There's more to come from us," says the Austrian advisor. What kind of updates these are and when we can expect them is not known.
New Honda engine step forward
During the last Grand Prix Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon both got a new power unit mounted in the RB16. According to the aforementioned German medium the Japanese engine supplier has ensured with this upgrade that the V6 turbo can hold out longer at full power. This would have clearly reduced the difference with the Mercedes power unit (on Sundays).
