Mercedes had trouble managing the tyres last Sunday in the heat at Silverstone. The drivers of the German team expect to experience the same problems in Spain as in Great Britain when temperatures are high there as well.

Tyre problems of Mercedes

Where Max Verstappen drove around the Silverstone circuit without any tyre problems, the Mercedes drivers had a much harder time. The tyres of Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton suffered from blisters early on in their stint.

Strong Red Bull

Hamilton expects that when there are high temperatures again in Spain, the Mercedes will have trouble with the tyres. "I expect that we will probably have the same kind of problems there, just as we had here, especially when it gets hot. Maybe it won't be as bad as today, but it will certainly be a challenge", said the six-time world champion at the FIA press conference.

Bottas agrees with his teammate. "I agree. I think it will be a challenge. I haven't seen the forecast yet, but I expect it to be warm. In any case, after today it looks like Red Bull Racing is very strong when it's hot."
