Albon keeps hope in the race: "There will be more possibilities with the strategy"
For Alex Albon, the final qualifying result has come as a disappointment. The Red Bull Racing driver drove close to his teammate Max Verstappen in Q1 and Q2, but in the decisive part of qualifying, the Thai fell short and had to make do with ninth place.
For Albon it is a huge disappointment, which he does not hide from the Sky Sports camera. "It was very difficult. Every time we leave the pits it feels like something has changed on the car. To be honest, the lap didn't even feel bad and we did a good lap on an old set of mediums in the first run of Q3 ". In that run, Albon was still close to Verstappen, but it didn't go well in the all-decisive run.
"I was pretty optimistic when I got into the last set of softs but it just didn't go very well. I also didn't improve my time on a new set of soft tyres, compared to the old set of mediums where I set my first time. Will be a different race tomorrow, as there are more possibilities with the strategy," the Thai concluded.
