Verstappen misunderstood. "Maybe I was talking Chinese"
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen wasn't understood by the British press prior to the second race at Silverstone in England. The Dutchman was a bit critical about the racing format that will be adapted for the GP of Imola. The Dutchman emphasises not to be an opponent of the race itself.
Because of the large distance between Portimão and Imola where two consecutive weekend races will be held, it was decided to shorten the weekend in Imola, so that there is more time to move trucks.
The plan is to cancel the entire Friday leaving only one training session. That is exactly what the Dutchman spoke about on Thursday and not about the fact that there will be a race there.
Verstappen speaks Chinese
At Ziggo Sport Verstappen explains: "We haven't driven there [Imola, ed.] for a very long time, so there's very little information about it. It's not convenient to have only one practice session there. Then do two sessions of one hour or three-quarters of an hour. That's much better than just one session."
The British press quoted the Dutchman completely wrong and doesn't understand why: "Maybe I spoke Chinese... I don't know either. Or people are deaf, I don't know."
