Now that Sergio Perez has officially been released from quarantine and only a positive test for the coronavirus can still throw a spanner in the works, Nico Hulkenberg's comeback seems to be in the works. The German himself is very disappointed.

Last Thursday it became clear that Sergio Perez had tested positive for the coronavirus and with the directive to stay in quarantine for ten days in mind, racing at Silverstone seemed impossible. However, the health organisation in England has indicated that seven days quarantine is sufficient, so Perez only has to test negative for the coronavirus in order to enter the paddock.

Hulkenberg not in action after all

Hulkenberg is still on the paddock as a stand-in and had to participate in the press conference. ''It would be disappointed if I came back without taking part in a race. You've been able to taste it again, but it's clear from the start in what role I'm here'', says Hulkenberg at the press conference.

''I came here as a replacement for Checo and didn't know if this would be for one or two races. However, he is the regular driver, so when he is back I will step aside again'', said the German who indicated at the press conference to look at other options within Formula 1.
