Vettel: 'The region is called German Siberia for a reason'

Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, Formula 1 will be looking for a number of old circuits this season, which haven't been on the calendar for a while. One of them is the Nürburgring, which, according to Sebastian Vettel, could bring surprises in October.
The Nürburgring has been the battleground for the German Grand Prix for a long time. The circuit is located in the middle of the Eifel Mountains and the race was often organized during the summer months. This season the Grand Prix will only take place in October, when the average temperature in the area is 10 degrees Celsius.
According to Sebastian Vettel, the track can therefore provide a number of surprises. "We can expect all kinds of things there. If we are lucky it can be 20 degrees, but it can also be around zero degrees, so it will certainly be a challenge. It's called German Siberia for a reason", the driver jokes against Autosport.com.
Interesting track for today's cars
When the race was last held in 2013, Vettel was on the top step of the podium. "I think it's a great circuit and I have good memories of it. So I'm looking forward to going back".
"It's an interesting and good job to drive and especially with the current cars it will be fun for the drivers. I think the weather will also play a role. I'd be surprised if it wouldn't", concludes the four-time world champion.
