Sebastian Vettel finished in the points due to some luck during the Grand Prix of Great Britain, while his team mate went to the podium again for a second time this season. According to former Ferrarri drivero Gerhard Berger it is time for Vettel to retire.

Vettel will leave Ferrari at the end of 2020 and his future in Formula 1 remains uncertain. It seems that the German will be able to make the switch to Racing Point, but nothing about that at the moment. A brand like Aston Martin would like to add a four-time world champion to the lineup, but will that be a good choice for Vettel?

Vettel to Racing Point

"My advice would be to quit. On the other hand, I know Sebastian very well and he just wants to win races again. Racing Point seems to be the best option, because Perez and Stroll can already compete for a podium. Let alone what someone like Vettel could do with a car like that," Berger says to Sportbuzzer.de.

According to Berger, Vettel wouldn't even deteriorate compared to his seat at Ferrari. "If you put Vettel in that car he might be able to fight with Mercedes, or at least play a role at the front. That's much better than at Ferrari at the moment. I think that it is a realistic alternative for him and would understand if he makes that step", concludes the Austrian.
