Alfa Romeo not out of trouble for the time being: 'Qualifying is disastrous"
- GPblog.com
Alfa Romeo will not get going this season, especially qualifying is a problem for Kimi Raïkkönen and Antonio Giovinazzi. An end to the problem is not in sight at the moment, so it already knows that it doesn't have to expect much from the race at Silverstone.
"Our racing pace is pretty good, but we are disastrous in qualifying", recognizes team boss Frédéric Vasseur in conversation with Speedweek. "We have to be realistic. We will continue to have problems as long as we don't perform well in qualifying. It will take some time, especially because there is also uncertainty about our budget".
Ferrari engines dramatic
It is clear that the Ferrari engines are doing a dramatic job this year. The Scuderia, for example, is seriously underperforming with a fifth place in the constructors' championship, while Alfa Romeo is ninth. "There is a part that is in our hands and a part that we have no influence on. We can correct our own problems quickly. If we ride better in qualifying, we're going to score points in the end".
