Christian Horner doesn't yet know whether Alexander Albon will receive a penalty or not. Shortly after the Hungarian Grand Prix, the Red Bull Racing team boss says that he still needs to be updated by the team manager. Furthermore, Horner states that he does not understand any criticism of Albon.

"I don't think anything intentional has been done, I have not spoken to the team manager yet. I hope that it's a non-issue. But obviously, someone has reported it. I wait to hear from the team manager," Horner told GPblog.com after the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Horner does not understand the criticism

Horner is also very pleased with Albon's performance, he says. "If you look at his pace in the clear air, that was pretty decent. We are very satisfied with his performance. He did a great job. I struggle to understand the criticisms you may have."

It is now up to Red Bull to reduce the gap between themselves and Mercedes within ten days. "Mercedes has a phenomenal car. It is up to us to close that gap. We have a decent car here, it's just not behaving as our simulations predicted it will. We have to understand that and make sure we're achieving what it should be doing. That is not yet the case. There's a lot of good data from this weekend and the team are working hard to get on top of it," he says. off.
