Valtteri Bottas finished qualifying at Hungary behind his teammate, but will not be dissatisfied with his performance. The Finn is still the championship leader and second place on the starting grid for Sunday offers prospects for a good race on Sunday.

"It's nice to start at the front. I could already see in FP3 that it would be close together. As a team, we were at a good speed. We were far away from the other teams, which is good for us. My lap times were good in the end and it was very close again with Lewis. In the end, my Q3 time was a really good time and Lewis drove well to get into pole position," the Finn said after qualifying.

First lap is important

"If you look at the times, it looks good. It's gonna be a drag race to the first corner. It's important for me to keep the lead in the championship and that will be the goal in the race. I'm sure the first lap will be very interesting," the driver of Mercedes concluded.
