Doornbos: "Ferrari will have nothing to say in Monza this season"

So far Ferrari's season has been dramatic. The Italian team managed to get a podium place in the first race, but in the second race Charles Leclerc drove Sebastian Vettel out of the race and on top of that Leclerc himself had to stop the car. In Hungary the team hopes to perform better. However, Robert Doornbos thinks Ferrari's performance is bad.
"It's actually Ferrari-unworthy. It was certainly embarrassing to see them knock each other out. To do such things on P1 and P2 is already terrible, but to do it in midfield. You go from a dramatic qualifying session to a race you can't even finish," the former F1 driver explained at the Formula 1 Café of Ziggo Sport. "But that's not even the worst problem."
Nothing to say in Monza
"If you look at the speed traps, because we get Monza, of course, where they want to perform well. However, last weekend they were eighteenth in the speedtraps, which means that that car has a lot of drag. So they won't have anything to say at the track where they won last year". Doornbos is already writing off Ferrari for a victory on the legendary Italian circuit.
In Hungary it turned out that Ferrari can still compete with the other teams in the corners and that they are mainly behind on the straights. Because of the disappointing performance of Ferrari around the engine, the big question is what problem caused them to lag behind so much. "I'm curious about that", says Doornbos.
