After the two Grands Prix in Austria it was clear that Ferrari had to catch up enormously. Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel both did not make it out of the second qualifying session and were very disappointed during the second Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring by dropping out after an accident between the two. However, the first signs after Friday in Hungary look positive for the drivers of the Italian team.

"This morning went better than expected. We didn't bring many new parts, practically the same car as seven days ago. However, it seems that the SF1000 works better on this track, which is a good signal", explains Leclerc at Motorsport.com.

Still having problems

Yet Leclerc still experiences several problems with his car. "We've tried some different things, but I'm not entirely happy with it. I find it difficult to find confidence in a wet track, but fortunately there are positive signs after today. There are fewer straights and we are really lagging behind. We won't fight with Mercedes yet, but we are faster than last week".

Vettel is more cautious about his expectations of the weekend, but also sees positive signals from the Italian team. "This morning went well. This track is clearly better for us, hopefully we can confirm that tomorrow. Of course we don't know anything for sure until qualifying. We still have a long way to go, but it looks like today went better than first for us", the German concluded.
