Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon both indicated after the second free practice that they were not satisfied with the balance of the RB16. The balance of the car wouldn't be where it should be yet and so there is work to be done for Red Bull Racing. The Austrian race team is confident that Saturday should go better

Red Bull actually only came into action during the first free practice session (as the afternoon session literally fell into the water) and so there was little time to make quick improvements to the set-up. Verstappen and Albon both made 28 laps in an hour and a half.

No smashing first day for Red Bull

The times that Red Bull drove show that the tuning still needs improvement. Verstappen came in eighth, while Albon even had to settle for a disappointing thirteenth place. "They weren't our best ninety minutes", Paul Monaghan admits in conversation with Motorsport-Total.com.

In conversation with the German medium, the head engineer of the Milton Keynes based race tean says it will be better during qualifying and racing. "We've mainly used the softer tyres, but they weren't as good as the other two compouns. But with this knowledge there will be improvements", he concluded.
