After it became painfully clear during the first race weekend at the Red Bull Ring how much Ferrari is lagging behind this season, the team revealed that an update for the Hungarian Grand Prix had to improve. However, we shouldn't expect too much of that.

In the first place because there is no update at all. Motorsport.com has heard through their sources that the complete update originally planned for Hungary, was already on the circuit during the GP of Steiermark. So the team doesn't really have any significant upgrades this weekend.

Ferrari hopes on last week's update

The outside world has not yet noticed much of the upgrade on the Red Bull Ring, because the new parts did not yet have the desired result. The team now hopes to get the update working in Hungary once more has been driven.

"We know the new parts will work. Of course we would like those upgrades to be a 'gamechanger', but it doesn't look like it at the moment. "Our expectations of the upgrades have yet to be confirmed under normal racing conditions," said Sebastian Vettel at the press conference on Thursday.
