All possibilities resemble for Sebastian Vettel when it comes to a seat in Formula 1 for next year. Nevertheless, the German newspaper Bild comes with a possible option for the German, namely Racing Point. The contract of Sergio Perez contains an exit clause of millions which could free up a spot for Vettel.

It is a remarkable message because Sergio Perez has signed a long-term contract with Racing Point. The Mexican is under contract with the team until the end of 2022 while teammate Lance Stroll is the son of the team owner. So there doesn't seem to be any room there at all.

Last chance for Vettel

According to the report in the German newspaper, Racing Point must lift the option in Sergio Perez's contract before 31 July. If they do so, the Mexican will be credited with many millions in his bank account, although the current driver will undoubtedly prefer to extend his contract. At that time a long contract was signed with Perez, partly due to the great popularity of Formula 1 in Mexico, and the commercial opportunities in the country.

If we are to believe Bild, this doesn't count anymore and Vettel will be an option for the team, which is investing heavily in the last year. The question is whether this is a desperate attempt of the big German newspaper or whether there is truth in it. If Vettel doesn't find a seat next year, for the first time since 1991 there will be no Duister driving in Formula 1. The leading country has dropped a bit in recent years in terms of performance. Possibly the country will have to wait until the next Schumacher makes his appearance in Formula 1. Mick Schumacher, the son of Michael Schumacher is currently driving in Formula 2.
