Alexander Albon received a lot of criticism after the Styrian Grand Prix. The Red Bull rider was a lot slower than teammate Max Verstappen in the race and had to keep all sails on Sergio Perez. In Hungary there are new opportunities for the Thai who will focus more on Saturday.

According to the Red Bull rider it is difficult to overtake at the Hungaroring so the attention of the Thai is largely focused on qualifying on Saturday. "Hungary is a beautiful track. Really a 'drivers circuit'. This weekend Saturday will be even more important than usual because overtaking is not as easy as on the Red Bull Ring. I'm going to focus on that. Furthermore we have learned from the first two weekends so now we understand the car better".

The expectations for the upcoming weekend are difficult to predict, the Thai thinks: "The most important thing is to narrow the gap with Mercedes but we will have to wait until the first free practice session. Racing Point will probably participate as well, we'll see although I think this circuit is better for us than the Red Bull Ring", the driver is still a bit hopeful.

Which race was better?

In the preview on the Red Bull website at the upcoming Grand Prix in Hungary, we also look at the two weekends in Austria. Albon thought the first race went better than the second, the so-called GP of Steinermark.

"I would say the first race was better than the second for me. We got out of the car in the first weekend while we had a better car in race two. Because of a possible blister on the right front tire, I had to adjust my racing speed last Sunday. On the medium tire it went better", Albon concludes.
