Racing Point was one of the teams that disappointed during qualifying on Saturday. In the rain, the pink cars were clearly not doing so well. However, during the race they started a huge advance, with even Alexander Albon in danger.

They were already feared during the winter tests in Barcelona, the fast cars of Racing Point that look a lot like a Mercedes. It was expected that they would make the Ferrari difficult, but that Red Bull Racing should also be wary is quite special.

During the Styrian Grand Prix, however, proof of this was provided. Especially Sergio Perez was very fast and was on his way from a seventeenth place on the grid to the fourth place of Albon when things went wrong. The two touched each other and Perez's front wing broke down. A slight setback, but the team has proven that it can cause surprises in 2020.

Will Racing Point get any faster?

"Today we could race with Albon, but not with Max," says team boss Otmar Szafnauer when asked about the speed compared to Red Bull on Sky Sports F1. McLaren and Renault are fast, so we are also racing against them.

"We have plans to upgrade significantly and then smaller from there. We're a small team so we need several upgrades because we race so often. We need spare parts."
