Daniel Ricciardo said his Renault goodbye yesterday afternoon during the second free practice and as a result he climbed quite stiff in his car today. Nevertheless he managed to reach the third part of qualifying, although he had to let his teammate Esteban Ocon go first.

"I'm happy we were able to qualify in the end, and we're happy we ended up in Q3, especially after yesterday. I lost a bit of speed in the last session, but it's great for the team to have both cars in the top ten. It looks like I'll win a position with Lando's penalty, so it's not too bad".

Ricciardo expects a nice race

So Ricciardo is slightly disappointed with his ninth place. Ocon will start the race tomorrow from fifth place. Both gentlemen will have their hands full with the cars around them. Alexander Albon is expected to be fast and both Ferrari's will start behind Ricciardo. The Australian is looking forward to it.

"Once again, I would like to thank my mechanics for repairing the cars at night and getting them ready for qualifying. Tomorrow will be fun. The weather looks like it's going to be the opposite of today, so we'll see what happens."
