Max Verstappen was fastest during FP2 at the Red Bull Ring. He could be on pole position for Sunday's race, but he doesn't take that into account. The positive feeling he gets from this day is much more important than where he starts the race.

"The car already feels better than last week, the balance is a lot nicer to drive and we have made a good step. It is only Friday Practice and of course, it is too early to say how we are looking against Mercedes, but from our side, I think we are quite happy," he said.

Eleven laps during the race felt good for Verstappen

Last week Verstappen spun a few times on Friday, but even then things went better during the weekend. If the car feels even better now, things could be looking good for Red Bull Racing on Sunday.

"Normally our race pace is more competitive but already over one lap we can't complain and actually the 11 laps I did in last week's race didn't look too bad, so it can only get better."
