Many journalists had to stay at home for the first Grand Prix of the Formula 1 season, but Netflix is present. The streaming service will film in Austria at McLaren and Red Bull Racing.

The last two years Netflix brought out the series 'Drive to Survive'. The series gives a look behind the scenes of the Formula 1 teams and especially in the first season, a look behind the scenes of the teams you normally don't hear so much about. Günther Steiner has become a cult hero through the series.

Netflix is present

Where many other media and journalists had to stay at home because of the coronavirus, Racefans.net reports that Netflix will 'just' film during the Austrian Grand Prix. During this first weekend after the long coronavireak, McLaren and Red Bull Racing will be followed.

It has been made possible to film using the staff rule. Teams are allowed to bring 80 employees and the Netflix crew of two is counted below those numbers. So McLaren and Red Bull each have a fixed number of people from Netflix, so they, like the rest of the paddock, can't spread the virus to other teams.
