The FIA has published the calendar for the Formula E season for 2020 - 2021. Strikingly enough, there are only no races scheduled for 2020.

Contrary to Formula 1, Formula E has no seasons that are spread over one calendar year. Normally a season starts around November and the last race is driven in the summer around July. A season that is fairly similar to football seasons in Europe.

The new calendar presented by the FIA for Formula E only looks very different than normal. Indeed, the first race of the 2020 - 2021 season is only scheduled for January 2021. However, the season will end in July, provided that the last races in London are approved.

Delay caused by the coronavirus

The striking calendar is due to the coronavirus. The current season of Formula E has been considerably delayed and will end in August. In Berlin no less than six races will be driven in nine days time. After that, the teams will have time to prepare for next season.
