In 2020 Ferrari will have a strong driving duo on paper with four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel and great talent Charles Leclerc. However, the question is whether this will work as well now that Vettel has already announced his departure?

In 2019, Leclerc and Vettel had already fought each other several times, culminating in the crash in Brazil. Where there could still be team orders in 2019, the question is to what extent Vettel will respond to those orders in 2020? Knowing that he will leave anyway, Vettel has nothing to lose.

Departure of Vettel

''I have my doubts if the atmosphere at Ferrari this season will be so good. It's not exactly a happy family right now. In Brazil we already saw what can happen then and I think the incident at Interlagos heralds what we can expect in 2020'', says Zak Brown to Corriere della Sera.

Still, it is questionable whether Vettel will kick up a lot of fuss, because with the limited spots on the drivers' market he seems to be working on his retirement. ''Red Bull and Mercedes don't seem to have a place for him and then Renault is his only option, but he goes to a team where he can't win. If he doesn't feel like a long adventure, I'll see him stop'', McLaren's team boss concludes.
