Bottas is motivated: "I've never been so fit in the build-up to the season"

Prior to the original start of the season in Australia, many drivers were already physically well prepared to race again. Due to the corona virus, however, everyone had to wait a few extra months, which made staying physically strong a challenge for many drivers. Valtteri Bottas had also prepared well for the original first race in Australia, but just now the Finn thinks he is physically better than ever.
"A couple of weeks ago I did a fitness test that I would normally do once or twice a year and it was my best test so far", Bottas admits against Sky Sports. "As a driver you never get the chance to focus on your physical condition for months on end, normally it's just the winter test".
Fitter than ever
The Mercedes driver himself thinks he has been able to take advantage of the extra long break. "You normally never get that much time to do other things. In addition, you can focus more on yourself and how you feel physically and mentally". Bottas is looking forward to the start of the season anyway, also because of the special edge that will be there next season. "Every mistake you make now will cost you more. It's going to be a shorter season than planned."
"I could already show in Barcelona that I've made good progress. I've worked a lot with the team to better adapt my driving style to the car. I'm now more complete as a driver and I've never been more fit. I really hope I can show that on the track. I will go all the way", Bottas concluded.
