Sebastian Vettel leaves Ferrari at the end of 2020. That is already fixed, while there is still one year to go. Max Verstappen heard the news, but looked up a bit.

Even before the season starts in 2020 at all, a large part of the drivers' changes are already fixed in 2021. Vettel leaves Ferrari, Carlos Sainz takes his place and Daniel Ricciardo moves to McLaren. A lot of change before the start of the season, which Verstappen also did not see coming.

Verstappen also surprised

''I also expected Sebastian to drive for Ferrari for another year or two, but it is clear that Ferrari has chosen a different path. It is of course a great opportunity for Carlos and we'll see what Vettel will do now in 2021", says Verstappen in conversation with the German Sky Sports.

For Vettel there seem to be fewer and fewer options left for 2021. Mercedes prefers its own drivers, Red Bull already has a leader with Verstappen and also McLaren already has the lineup around. With only seats in the middle leg of Renault, Haas and Alfa Romeo, a pension for the German seems imminent.
