Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen will travel to Spielberg in a couple of weeks with a good feeling. The Austrian Grand Prix has convincingly fallen prey to the Dutchman over the past two years. However, until 2017 Mercedes was still undefeated here, what is their expectation from the first two race weekends?

Toto Wolff is certainly cautious about that after last year. When the team had to settle for third and fifth place and had big problems with the cooling. Although something has now been done about that and the winter tests looked promising, Wolff refuses to see himself as a favourite.

"We weren't prepared for the high temperatures last year," he says to Motorsport-Total.com. "I have no idea how that will develop this year, but the altitude is not to our advantage. Reliability will be the key. We have not been able to test and we will have to use the three free practice sessions to get to know the car".

Wolff is referring to the fact that they have made more room for cooling this year, but that the teams have not yet driven under warm conditions and in thin air. Moreover, the car will not be the same as in Barcelona. "We have upgrades planned for the summer, but we won't have much time to drive them and understand them".
